In brief

Guneesh works with Quentin Duff on his criminal practice in the District Court, High Court, and Court of Appeal. He graduated from the University of Auckland with a Bachelor of Laws in 2023 and was admitted in 2024.

Guneesh gives clients clear, plain-spoken advice, so they know where they stand and what their options are. He is a thorough and composed advocate who is not put off by difficult or unpopular cases, and whatever the charge, he works hard to get each client the best outcome available to them.

He acts across the full range of criminal charges, from drink driving, assault, and dishonesty matters through to rape, sexual violation, serious violence, firearms, money laundering, and the supply of Class A drugs. Results for his clients include acquittals on all charges after a jury trial for sexual violation, charges from receiving through to strangulation and firearms possession dismissed before trial, and sentences of home detention and community detention on serious violence and Class A drug charges. Guneesh has also argued bail, sentence, and extradition appeals in the High Court.
