Before chambers she spent two years as a Refugee and Protection Officer at the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, interviewing claimants and deciding claims on refugee and protection status, many involving family violence, mental health, and criminal offending. She graduated from the University of Auckland with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and International Relations and Philosophy, and was admitted in May 2026.
