Experience

Graduating from Victoria University of Wellington, Scott previosuly worked as a staff solicitor at IRD and then in insurance litigation. He eventuially joined Meredith Connell in Auckland and progressed to being a senior Crown prosecutor. Scott joined Mātai Chambers near the beginning of Mātai Chambers being established. He has acted as defence counsel in numerous high profile cases including murder and drug trials. He was also co-counsel for a complex trust case in the High Court and Court of Appeal.

Instructions

Scott accepts private instructions and is also categorised to accept legal aid cases that carry a maximum of life imprisonment.

Recent Cases

R v R - murder trial. Client acquitted of murder and manslaughter. Convicted of being an accessory after the fact of murder.

R v P - client convicted of murder, kidnapping and wounding.
